Afternoon cotton trading extended midday losses, and left the board 65 to 80 points in the red. The national cotton cash price from cmdtyView was 67.6 cents/lb on the 11th. USDA’s Spot Quotations report showed 3,264 bales were sold at spot on the 12th, for an average price of 64.37 cents. The online cotton trading platform, The Seam, showed Wednesday sales were 3,711 bales for an average price of 64.81 cents/lb. Certified deliverable cotton stocks were continued to climb in Memphis, to 57,465 bales. The national stock pile is 85,831 bales as of the 11th. The Cotlook A index was firm 77.60 cents/lb for the 11th. FSA increased the week’s AWP for cotton by 70 points to 56.71 cents/lb through next Thursday.
