Cotton Futures Lower so far

Friday trading has cotton down 64 to 90 points at midday, with Dec the weakest. The national average spot cotton price from cmdtyView was 67.32 cents/lb on 11/05. Cotton export sales were reported as 171,261 RBs, split 116k RBs for 2020/21 delivery and 56k NMY. MYTD cotton commitments total 8.865 million running bales, which is down 6% yr/yr. Wednesday cotton sales on The Seam were 4,686 bales at an average gross price of 67.04 cents/lb. WTD sales are 7,947 bales at a wtd av price of 67.95 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index remained at 77 cents/lb for 11/05. USDA’s FSA lowered the week’s AWP for cotton 136 points to 56.01 cents/lb.

Dec 20 Cotton is at 69.17, down 90 points,

Mar 21 Cotton is at 70.56, down 65 points

May 21 Cotton is at 71.38, down 64 points

Jul 21 Cotton is at 72.07, down 64 points
