Cotton Closes in Green

Cotton futures continued to trade in triple digit moves, but this time to the green side. Futures ended the Tuesday session below the midday highs but still gained 74 to 188 points on Turnaround Tuesday. The stock market hit the limit move up earlier and ended trading with a 2,112.98 point gain on the Dow. Gold was $59.20 higher, and the dollar was 0.757 lower. Monday sales on the online cotton trading platform The Seam totaled 135 bales at an average gross price of 45.50 cents/lb. That was the lowest average sale price on The Seam since 08/26. The 03/23 Cotlook A index was down another 125 points to 63.70 c/lb. The AWP for cotton is 49.95 c/lb. through Thursday. The LDP is 2.05 cents.

May 20 Cotton closed at 52.89, up 74 points,

Jul 20 Cotton closed at 53.01, up 147 points

Oct 20 Cotton closed at 54.7, up 183 points

Dec 20 Cotton closed at 54.65, up 188 points
